There was nothing small about this exciting project. Scott Simpson Builders began work by tearing down the original 1960s home in preparation for the all-new 21st-century infrastructure.

We drilled deep into the earth to lay a geothermal loop field — the core of a green HVAC system (see below). We also needed to build a retaining wall at the beach line.

All 7 bedrooms in this magnificent residence feature windows that focus views on the lake. The house also sports 10 bathrooms.

The homeowners enjoy swimming year-round, both in Lake Michigan and indoors. An enclosed subterranean lap pool is topped with a curved, glass ceiling imported from England so that swimmers can enjoy an outdoor experience even in the winter months.

Greener Building

Geothermal loop field takes advantage of the earth’s moderating temperatures to boost efficiency and reduce the operational costs of both heating and cooling.
